St. Augustines Life Teen

What's different about this youth ministry program? LIFE TEEN has as its central focus one mission: to lead teens closer to Christ by experiencing His power and love. Community is vital to the success of LIFE TEEN as teens receive education, support and guidance in the environment of community… a community of peers, church leaders, parents and volunteers. When teens come to know that they are loved, they can be empowered by the Holy Spirit to lead fruitful lives in service of God and others and witness to the love they've received. When: Life Teen's regularly scheduled events take place every 1st and 3rd Sunday of the month, after the 5pm Mass. We start at 6:15 with dinner, then have an event that is either purely social or which covers a topic that's relevent to high school teenagers.

Cost: FREE!

"Life Nights" are always free

How: Just show up at the 5pm Mass or come to the gym after. There is no registration, you don't RSVP, and there is no attendance policy.

We're having our 3rd annual Gaming for Missions night

where we set up video game systems, projects, and TV's.

You have the chance to compete in a tournament or

just play for fun with your friends. The cost is $5 or an

item for the Howard County Pregnancy Center.

Meet for morning Mass at 7am and around 7:25 (after Mass)

Get ready for Christmas the RIGHT way! A night of Worship

music, Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, and a short talk

by our guest speaker. Then afterwards, have a cookie... a

Christmas cookie!

Adoration at Retreat

Retreats

In all the craziness that the world brings us it is so important to take some time to escape into the arms of God. Retreats are the lifeblood of our dynamic ministry as they provide for conversion experiences as teen encounter the person of Jesus Christ in a powerful way. Also, young people have the opportunity to encounter Christ in the community of diverse young people who make up the body of Christ.

In 2011 we had two retreats. St. Augustine's winter retreat was joined by parishes from Pittsburgh, PA & Alexandria, VA, as well as our own parish. We had over 100 teens together for an awesome weekend! Over the summer we attended the Steubenville Youth Conference in Rhode Island with over 3,000 teenagers from the northeast.
